Presentations & Workshops

This stream allows you to either present a topic to the students as a one off lecture or to create a series of workshop sessions that are run in a given time (e.g. once a week for a month).
The topics can be subject matter you are knowledgeable in or previous research you participated in or lead.
We do not have a set style of the presentation/workshop that we would like you to follow. Rather we will leave this to you to decide what will work best.
These topics are not restricted to your area of study and can include student groups or outside campus volunteering subject matter or projects.
We are very flexible in scheduling and will pull students out of their regular class to participate.

Student mentor or advisor for student lead project

Some students will be running long term projects of their choosing during the months this program is run.
This stream requires a little more commitment and entails being a student resource and/or mentor.
A student adviser is an expert in a particular topic that the students may call upon while developing their project.
Essentially we are creating a contact list of experts to advise students as needed.
Mentors help the students with the development of their project, including planning, finding necessary resources, conducting the project, and possibly presenting ( e.g. something along the lines of a TEDx event) or entering into a competition (e.g. The Edmonton Regional Science Fair)

Organizing on campus or guest speakers.

This stream looks to get students on campus and interacting with professors, graduate students, or undergrad students who are in labs, conducting projects (including student group projects), or running them through tours of campus facilities (e.g. The observatory)This not a position but rather an opportunity for you to organize these interactions if you are able and have the connections or are willing to make the connections required.
